Waves of the Rice

The indigenous Hakka residents in Xinwu area have traditionally made a living through rice cultivation and fishing. With plains and coastal areas, they conceptualize their spaces around windbreak forests where the ocean meets farmland. Using materials like straw, recycled fishing nets, and reclaimed fabrics, they traverse the windbreak forests, guided by the aroma of rice, to catch a glimpse of the ocean ecology and Hakka culture.
